Meet The Founder
Hey, I’m Dave — founder of Oy Vey.
I live in Israel. I grew up here, did my army service like pretty much everyone else, and if there’s one thing I learned, it’s that waking up at 5 AM isn’t for me. But seriously, it gave me a real appreciation for standing up for something bigger than yourself — and for finding pride in where you come from.
Spending time abroad later made that even clearer. Being openly Jewish isn’t always easy — sometimes you feel like you have to tone it down or fit in. And honestly? That’s exactly why I wanted to create something different. Pride shouldn’t be something you have to explain or apologize for. It should be something you wear.
That’s where Oy Vey came from.
I’ve always loved creating — whether it’s designing graphics, coming up with ideas, making content, you name it. Building Oy Vey gave me a way to mix creativity with meaning — to make designs that actually say something, and to connect people who feel the same way.
Starting a brand wasn’t all sunshine either.
There were a lot of "what am I doing" moments, plenty of mistakes, and a lot of figuring things out the hard way. But every bump made the mission stronger: building a community that's proud, loud, and unbreakable.
And it's not just about shirts and hoodies.
Giving back is a huge part of what we do — a portion of every sale goes toward supporting vital causes in Israel. It’s our way of making sure the love we wear on the outside is doing real good on the inside too.
So thanks for being part of this journey. It’s way bigger than just a brand — it’s a movement, and you’re a huge part of it.
Am Yisrael Chai 🤍
